Product Description
The Active 2.3 is an extension of our research in product development of the Active 2.0 and is built for the professional consumer. Continuous product testing and seeking means to improve our product offering through consumer feedback gave us the big breakthrough in developing a cohesive solution that the market needs, in terms of both the product design and performance.
The 2.3 comes equipped with an updated brass endplate 5-Piston Pro Pump and a 128 Induction motor, which gives you 2.3 GPM at 1100 PSI. The combined operating output of 2,500 cleaning units will make any cleaning task a breeze. Seriously this machine packs a punch, and it's both serviceable and rebuildable!
The package also comes with all the basic accessories you need to get started with. This includes:
- 1.45mm nozzle for after market foam cannons to maintain current draw under 15A.
- Bonus wall-mountable cage. The pressure washer is removable from its frame for a versatile cleaning experience.
- 40’ steel braided rubber hose.
- Metal pressure washer gun and lance.
- Foam cannon and 4 nozzles (0,15,25,40).
Important Notes:
- This unit is adapted to the 15A connections present in most homeowner garages and includes a 4.6 orifice size to help maintain current draw under 15A. Users are free to use other orifice sizes while making sure current draw doesn't go above 15A, otherwise it can cause damage to the microswitch and capacitor.
- To ensure proper operation, steel-braided hoses are strongly recommended when using this unit.
Just buy the 2.0. This thing is loud. Shockingly loud. TSS system is poor quality, no different from the 2.0 which is $300 less.
Maybe Active gets it right when 2.3v2 is released. If you can’t wait for that, definitely switch brands and buy the AR630 (same price as 2.3).
AR630 is quieter, lighter, and TSS is quite noticeably higher quality. Active needs to go back to the R&D lab on this one
I live in Minnesota, I used the pressure washer Saturday, Temp was only 53 degrees!!First time turning it on, Pushing the power button on it would kick out the GIC out let plug in!! The only way I could get the pump to run was to hold the trigger on my wand wide open so it would kick in!! The minute I would stop using the pressure washer the GIC would kick out!! it is on the noisy side!! I will see if Customer Service will refund my money so I can get an A.R. 630 pump more commercial grade that will hold up better than this!!🤔
Bought it based off their specs on the website which state it's 14a and only needs 1800 watts stable to operate. I have a predator 3500 generator that I use in my van for work to use with the 2.3 unfortunately when it got hooked up it only worked for about 30 seconds and then stopped working. Called CS immediately and was told to do some troubleshooting with the unit, they denied my warranty because it works while plugged into a wall (found out during troubleshooting). Since I bought the unit to use for work I needed it to operate off my generator which is more than sufficient based off their own spec requirements having it work at home is useless for me. So I asked for a new unit to be sent out and was told no since the unit worked from the wall they wouldn't be providing me a replacement. Very unfortunate and unprofessional way of handling a potentially defective unit especially during a new product launch. Now I'm stuck with a dead unit that I can keep or return only. Save yourself the hassle and buy a kranzle or AR, deal with companies that have established themselves for service and warranty.
So coming from a $219 2000psi Bauer electric to the 2.3, still using my Active gun and MTM PF22.2 cannon, I always had decent suds, or so I thought. Using the same amount of soap, my suds today (arrived this morning) were so creamy and rich, I couldn’t believe and still trying to wrap my head around why so drastic of a difference. I’m not complaining whatsoever, was already a freak about washing the vehicles, but I might just start wasting product to see those luxurious suds. 😬
I pre-ordered the 2.3 with great anticipation. After receiving the unit, I was surprised at the quality of the foam cannon and gun that came with in. For a $650 pressure washer, those are very disappointing. It seemed like Active was banking on purchasers already having quality equipment to use in lieu of the trash that it came with. Thankfully I did, and thus, my experience with it was much improved. I'd much rather they take the cost of the foam cannon, washer gun, and hose (though the hose isn't nearly as bad as the other stuff) and deducted those things from the cost.
The unit itself is pretty noisy compared to similar ones in it's price range. Performance-wise, it's impressive. The output is strong, the foam with a QUALITY foam cannon is great, and its ease of use is a huge perk. It's not light, but it's not bad at all. The frame makes moving it a breeze. The only issue I had with function was a rapid reduction in output randomly which I chocked up to a bend in the inlet hose I was using. Not entirely sure if it's part of normal operation but the unit felt warm to the touch after use. Not burning hot, but definitely warm enough to pique my curiosity.
All in all, I'm enjoying using it, but don't agree with the price point. I think that for about $100 more, you can get a professional level model that has a proven history of reliability. This thing looks very nice, and is awesome to wash a car with, but I'm not sure I'd purchase it again knowing what I know now. I worry about the longevity of it, and hope that in the event that its reliability isn't fantastic, Active will make things right. Only time will tell, though I look forward to continued use.
